| My spiritual journey began in the summer of 1977 when I was 15 years old. While attending a Christian summer camp in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, I had a near-death experience (NDE**) that changed everything I once believed. Part One of this two-part book, details the NDE and the experiences leading up to it.
The divine Spirit Who accompanied me in my NDE had nothing to do with religion but everything to do with God. "May the force be with you" is not just in a Star Wars movie, this Spirit force is with us always and is in charge of collecting ALL of us back into the awareness of Heaven by reminding us Who we are as part of the ONE Holy Mind. When I woke up from a coma, my mind had shifted to the "norm" on the "other side" which was contrary, to say the least, to the "norm" on "this side." Early on in my sharing of my NDE, I learned that what I thought would be received as good news, such as "we don't die" and "the world is a dream" and "everyone gets to go to Heaven" and "Jesus isn't religious at all" and "all of time happened in a blink, like this! (as I snap my fingers)" was not received well. It was frustrating. I had no spiritual background or knowledge of metaphysics to properly frame the ideas I was presenting. Without a way to sustain this new way of thinking, I easily reconnected with the ways of the world and let my heart refill with judgment during the 20 years between 1977 (Part One) and 1997 (Part Two). Part Two begins with a miraculous shift of mind that connects me to a Light of Wisdom. On December 15, 1997, I saw a vision of Light redefining my father before my eyes. Instead of the abusive father I knew, the one I saw in the vision was completely untouched by all worldly acts. This Light was clearly communicating telepathically to me that Love is all there is, and it is that Love that God created in His Image - nothing else exists in Heaven but God's Love. My father is part of God's Kingdom but not at all as the one I hated. Here was the Spirit from my NDE to remind me of what I had been shown on the "other side." Immediately following the vision, I was receiving a message in my mind so I ran to jot it down before it cleared my memory. What I thought was a one-time event turned out to be the first of many "Messages" I received over the years. Part Two, the larger half of this book, is dedicated to sharing the messages I journaled from December 15, 1997 through March 23, 1999. This Spirit mind reflected in Holy Shift! seems to me to be from the same Love as the all-inclusive Jesus symbolized in A Course in Miracles (ACIM). As an example, one of the light-hearted messages instructs me to listen to the words "Gee-He's-Us" and "Jesus" as sounding the same. (I can hear it better when I say it fast.) The teachings of ACIM and the Messages in Holy Shift! are similar in content, because they both point to this world as a dream and we remain as God created us. A Course in Miracles is a comprehensive, incredibly beautiful, divinely inspired, spiritual path Home to God. Holy Shift! runs in the same channel but is not a substitute for ACIM; rather it's a cheerful companion on our journey Home.
