I agree with ACIM's belief system that we have a decision-making mind that is split between choosing from two very different thought systems. The classic example is the angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other. To use computer terminology, we can only use one operating system at a time to "run" us. If we use a radio as a symbol, we can only hear one channel at a time. I prefer the radio symbolism because of the play on words with "channeling" (and tuning in, listening, etc.) However we label the process, the purpose is to be aware that there are only two categories from which all thought manifests:

(1) Holy mind (the Well of Wisdom, the Given Mind, the right mind, Love)

(2) ego mind (the well of hell, the learned mind, the wrong mind, fear)

These two opposing states of mind are ALL that we have available to our decision-making minds. There is no inbetween. We can't almost, just a wee bit, have an unkind thought. Either we are coming from Love, or we are coming from hate. It's no surprise that the thoughts we carry are drastically different depending on our channel choice. One awakens us to Our Reality, the other keeps us sleeping in a dream thinking it's reality. Ultimately we are responsible for which channel we choose for our guidance, not because there is a God who will punish us for choosing one over the other, but because only one takes us Home.

Our Holy mind speaks to us all of the time. It seems to me that we allow reflections of Our Holy mind to show up in acceptable forms that move our hearts, such as in music, writings, and poetry to name a few. We seldom question it when a musician mentions that the words to a song came to her during a dream, or he could hear the song in his mind and he simply captured the notes onto the paper.

I'm sure most of us have experienced "channeling on the fly" during a conversation. At those times, the perfect words seem to flow out of our mouths while our minds think "I have no idea where that came from but it just came to me!" Or we get the solution of a problem "all of a sudden" when we were no longer obsessing about it and it seemed to just "float right in."

When my channeling experience began in 1997, I thought I was losing my mind! I was in fear, yet part of me seemed peaceful. I remember feeling two distinct phases: During the channeling I felt completely connected to Love but after, I felt disconnected and used.

It was crystal clear to me that a willing part of my mind was connecting to Love, while my mortal mind felt utterly overlooked in the process. I didn't understand how I could be in Heaven, so to speak, yet feel dropped off in hell after receiving a "Message" in the form of a writing. At this point of my spiritual journey, I had not yet learned of our split mind that the book, A Course in Miracles, so clearly maps out.

I share my near-death experience and the detailed journaling of my early channeling experiences in my book: Holy Shift!

My journey continues and so does my daily practice. I welcome you to open your Holy mind to hearing the Love within you speaking to you and through you ... shhhh, listen ... :-)
